What's good

  • Auto-sensing handle opens Tesla ports natively and the built-in adapter covers every J1772 car
  • Published dynamic load management and 6-unit power sharing
  • 4-year warranty — longest of the group

What's not

  • Hardwired only — no plug-in option
  • Tesla's shop has intermittently gated purchases to Tesla owners while supply lasts
  • ETL rather than UL listing (equivalent NRTL, but some AHJs ask)

Our verdict

The connector question is settled by not having to answer it: NACS and J1772 in one unit, at a competitive price for 48-amp hardware. If it's in stock and your electrician is running a hardwired circuit anyway, this is the default.
