Off-Peak EV Charging Savings Calculator
See how much you can save by charging your EV on a time-of-use (TOU) plan instead of a flat rate. Set your miles, efficiency, your flat and off-peak rates, and how much of your charging happens off-peak for an instant annual and monthly savings estimate.
Chargers that schedule off-peak
The savings above only happen if charging starts after the rate drops. The Emporia wall unit schedules from its app and syncs to time-of-use rates; most cars can also schedule charging themselves. Most non-Tesla EVs built before 2025 have a J1772 port; a NACS car takes the wall charger's NACS version. The portable unit plugs into an existing 14-50 outlet on a 50 A circuit with no install. It is J1772-only.
