A portable power station is a battery, an inverter and a charger in one box: silent, indoor-safe backup power with no fuel, no fumes and no cord to a running engine. A solar generator is the same box charged from panels. The product category has matured fast — current units use LiFePO4 chemistry rated for thousands of cycles, and the larger ones back up circuits, not just devices.

Sizing is arithmetic, not guesswork: your load's watts decide whether the inverter can run it at all, and watt-hours divided by that load decide for how long.
