AC times include charging losses (~10% on Level 2, ~20% on Level 1). Cold weather, preconditioning, and the battery's state can stretch these figures. Charging past 80% is slow on DC and gentler on the battery when done on AC at home.

Home chargers that fit the Polestar 3

Its 11 kW onboard charger can take about 46 A, which needs a hardwired 48 A unit on a 60 A circuit; a plug-in 14-50 setup tops out at 40 A (9.6 kW). Most non-Tesla EVs built before 2025 have a J1772 port; if yours has a NACS port, pick the wall charger's NACS version. The portable unit plugs into an existing 14-50 outlet on a 50 A circuit with no install. It is J1772-only.
